Custom Bookbinding Services

The best way to start is to have a look at the shop and see whether there is a particular binding or style that you like the most. I am listing below the main bindings I offer, the list is not exhaustive.

Make it Real

Have a look through the shop or below for your ideal binding, then let me know:

  • The size (A4, A5 etc)
  • The shape (square, landscape, portrait)
  • The number of pages
  • Any paper preference, especially for sketchbooks

Finally, have a thought about the colour or style of your item. Some ideas of paper available are in the news section. Maybe you would like an added customisation with a hand calligraphed note.

Please check the FAQ below or contact me for further information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer leather bindings?

Leather bindings are possible, although leather is not kept in large quantities in the bindery. It is best to discuss your project first so the most suitable material can be sourced if needed. The bindery does not provide decorative gold tooling, but simple labelling or titling can be added if desired.

What types of custom books can you create?

We create bespoke journals, sketchbooks, photo albums, guest books, and more, tailored to your vision. Whether it’s for personal use, a gift, or a special occasion, each book is handmade in North Leitrim, Ireland, using traditional bookbinding techniques.

Can I choose the paper, size, and cover materials for my book?

Yes! Past orders have ranged from half a business card to A3. You can select your preferred paper, cover materials, and size. Check the Paper Used section of The Wee Journal blog for examples. Once you describe your style or colour preference, we can provide photographic suggestions from the available materials.

How long does it take to make a custom handmade book?

A standard custom book usually takes around two weeks in quiet periods. For seasonal orders, such as Christmas, we recommend ordering before Halloween. Lead times are confirmed when you place your order.

Can you personalise a book with names, dates, or dedications?

Absolutely. We can add hand-calligraphed dedications or foil lettering for a truly personalised finish, making your book a unique gift or keepsake.

Do you create bespoke books for special occasions or gifts?

Yes! We craft books for weddings, new parents, family occasions, anniversaries, holiday memories, or gifts to yourself or others. Each book is designed with care to suit the occasion.

Do you offer bookbinding services across Ireland?

Yes, we ship throughout Ireland and internationally. International orders are sent by courier, with tracking for peace of mind.
