COVER MATERIAL: A delicate cotton weave is mounted onto waxed Lokta paper, then dyed and gently crumpled to create a beautifully rustic surface.Its warm hand feel and layered colour depth give each sheet a naturally textured charm that feels crafted, lived in, and truly unique.

SUPPORT PAPER:
- ARTISANAL PAPER: Made on an original 19th-century papermaking machine from a now-closed mill, this paper brings character and quiet history to each album. A thoughtful mix of paper weights is used throughout, creating strength and visual interest while keeping the album comfortable to handle — never overly chunky. Subtle inclusions add depth without distracting from your photographs.

- 21st CENTURY PAPER: A modern, laid-textured paper in 250–300gsm, chosen for its clean structure and reliable support. Acid-free and beautifully consistent, it offers a crisp, contemporary feel that allows photographs to sit neatly and securely, making it an ideal choice for a sleek, timeless album.

Binding

Style: LONG and FRENCH/LADDER BINDING

Fact: Longstitch binding is a glue-free technique where book sections are sewn directly through slotted covers, creating a visible pattern of staggered lines along the spine. Often combined with Coptic-style sewing (Ladder stitch), it was widely used in medieval parchment bindings (c. 1375–1500) for added spine strength. The method invites variation, from crossed stitches (French) to changing stitch lengths and using multiple thread colours, making each binding both structural and expressive.
