A rugged leather companion for thoughts, sketches, and travels that unfold slowly.
Crafted from distressed, aged leather with a naturally uneven edge, this 18 x 23 cm (7 x 9") journal carries quiet character from the first touch. The decorative long stitch binding leaves the spine expressive and allows the book to open comfortably for writing or sketching.
Inside, 180 blank pages of unlined cotton rag paper offer a superior tooth and softly deckled edges. Responsive to pen, pencil, and light watercolour, it supports reflective writing, field notes, travel memories, and visual exploration without structure or restriction.
Finished with a leather band fastener, it is designed to travel well and age beautifully — a journal that becomes more personal with time.

COVER - Buffalo leather is thick, protective, and made to last. Its natural grain celebrates authenticity, offering strength without stiffness and a reassuring weight in the hand. Over time, it develops a rich patina, softening and darkening with use. Each mark becomes part of the story — quiet evidence of a journal well travelled, shaped by journeys, hands, and moments worth keeping.
ART PAPER - Exceptional in both quality and conscience, this tree-free cotton rag paper is made from 100% upcycled textile fibres and sourced directly from a fair-trade papermaking community in the hills of India. Each sheet is mould-made, sun-dried, and finished with softly deckled edges, preserving traditional skills while supporting ethical livelihoods. Lightly textured yet beautifully stable, it offers excellent performance across all media, making it as versatile as it is sustainable.

Style: LONG and FRENCH/LADDER BINDING
Fact: Longstitch binding is a glue-free technique where book sections are sewn directly through slotted covers, creating a visible pattern of staggered lines along the spine. Often combined with Coptic-style sewing (Ladder stitch), it was widely used in medieval parchment bindings (c. 1375–1500) for added spine strength. The method invites variation, from crossed stitches (French) to changing stitch lengths and using multiple thread colours, making each binding both structural and expressive.
