COVER MATERIAL: The Kraftex collection is a synthetic paper that is super tough, nicely textured, and has a rustic charm. It is tough enough to stand on its own as a soft cover yet retain a pleasing feel to the touch. Perfect for the unique journal or sketchbook that will endure the wear and tear of your next adventure.
SUPPORT PAPER: Made on an original 19th-century papermaking machine from a now-closed mill, this paper brings character and quiet history to each album. A thoughtful mix of paper weights is used throughout, creating strength and visual interest while keeping the album comfortable to handle — never overly chunky. Subtle inclusions add depth without distracting from your photographs.

Style: LONG and FRENCH/LADDER BINDING
Fact: Longstitch binding is a glue-free technique where book sections are sewn directly through slotted covers, creating a visible pattern of staggered lines along the spine. Often combined with Coptic-style sewing (Ladder stitch), it was widely used in medieval parchment bindings (c. 1375–1500) for added spine strength. The method invites variation, from crossed stitches (French) to changing stitch lengths and using multiple thread colours, making each binding both structural and expressive.
